Aparthotel in South West
Adagio, the foremost purveyor of hotel accommodations throughout Europe, is now offering what are called aparthotels to the business traveler, as well as families and leisure travelers. An aparthotel differs from a traditional hotel room in that it is essentially a completely furnished apartment, offering several rooms in which to relax including a fully equipped kitchen, and living room or sitting room.
An aparthotel is similar to an apartment, but without the need to enter into long-term leases. This form of convenience has become extremely popular in recent years, providing superior comfort and service for about the same price as a regular hotel. Such savings, combined with the convenience of an apartment, are extremely appealing to the business traveler, who is typically new to the region, or is interested in accomplishing as much as possible during his or her business trip. Aparthotel Aquitaine is just such a property, catering to the discriminating business traveler. Internet access is always available, as is twenty-four-hour reception, and the aparthotel is typically located close to transportation, meeting halls and cultural events specific to the Aquitaine region.
The Aquitaine Region
All is not business, however, and the traveler may wish to visit the cultural offerings of the region. Aquitaine is located on the southwest corner of France on the Atlantic ocean, near the Pyrénées mountains. One of the most popular side trips is to the Bordeaux region, famous worldwide for French wines. One may continue on to the City of Bergerac, or may visit the vineyards, or season permitting, go skiing. The entire region is not highly industrialized, as it has been cultivated mostly as farmland, although its population has increased significantly since the 1960s. The Aquitaine region is also somewhat close to Spain, and therefore is imbued with fragments of cultural history that includes the history of Spain and its own history and conquests.
The Aquitaine region is vast and varied geographically. Despite its proximity to the Pyrénées to the south, it is mostly flat land. The northeastern part of Aquitaine is home to the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne, the gentle hills and vineyards the area is famous for. Moreover, the area has been named a UNESCO world heritage site for containing the oldest centers where humans have been known to reside. It is because of its rural environment that it an inviting location to visit and relax.
