What monuments should you see during your stay in Abidjan?

The Pearl of the Lagoons, as it is also known, is packed with interesting and breathtaking monuments. Start your visit in Abidjan at the Cathédrale Saint-Paul d’Abidjan, an architectural gem in the Plateau district. Founded in 1904, it is one of the oldest churches in the city and was built in a neo-Gothic style inspired by European cathedrals. It is also famous for its impressive organ, which was imported from France in 1931.

The Musée des Civilisations de Côte d’Ivoire offers a fascinating insight into the history and culture of the region. There are numerous exhibitions on the art, music, religion and daily life of the different communities that have shaped Ivory Coast.

If you love bargaining and are curious by nature, the Treichville market is the place for you. The bustling streets of the market are filled with vendors offering a wide variety of products at all prices. Here you can taste traditional dishes such as fried fish, attiéké and foutou banana. And why not finish your meal with mangoes, pineapple or papaya.
